Since the PS5 launch, many users (including myself) has experienced reconnection issues where a Lan ethernet cable connected PS5 would randomly start to disconnect and reconnect over and over for any amount of time from minutes to hours.
As many already know, it is very frustrating to be online only to get kicked off due to some internet connection issue.

I read and tried all the troubleshooting and suggestions from rebuilding the database, clearing the cache, done in safe mode, trying a different ethernet cable, router ports, calling your ISP, and blah blah blah.
All of this has produced mixed results and I understand why some of these methods have worked and some have not but none of this has ended in a solved solution.
I am so sure I know what the problem is.
It is the ethernet Lan port on the back of the PS5.
How? If you ever begin to get that nasty reconnecting loop, just move around the ethernet cable and hold it still and you will notice the reconnection issue stops.
Then move the cable slowly around and it will happen again.
I have already posted this information in many popular PS5 websites but it hasn’t caught on yet.
The fact of the matter is, there is a defect in the Lan port input of some PS5s where the Lan port isn’t snug enough with an ethernet cable.
Yes, the Lan port input seems slightly larger where sometimes it loses contact which causes them awful random reconnection loops.
One must reposition the cable so that it is always making contact with the system which also can be very annoying.
This is why I titled this post as a partial fix.
That is the problem but how to fix it is another issue.
I figure I could do several things like use a large rubber band and always have the ethernet cable tied into a pressing position or maybe shove something small into the Lan port to make the ethernet cable more snug.
All that is kind of dirty way to patch up the issue but I would prefer a cleaner way and at least some recognition from Sony or anyone by now.
At the moment I am looking for a female to male ethernet port extension that purposely has a slightly larger female end to have a more snug connection but I doubt it even exists.
So I really don’t know what else to do.
You can contact Sony or post this information everywhere online but it seems no one is really catching on to the real issue.
Small update:
Does anyone read a full paragraph anymore?
I have posted my findings about this issue on many websites but they all go on about how they deleted some games or rebuilt the database and so on.
The issue is the ethernet input port on the back of the PS5!Every time I start getting a disconnect/connect loop issue I simply move (reposition) the ethernet cable until it stops showing that message.
Why can’t anyone recognize or understand this?
There is a small defect with the ethernet input port on the back of the PS5.
Just look at your TV/monitor and watch those disconnect messages go away while you move the ethernet cable and hold it in another position.
If I find a permanent fix for this problem then I’ll post an update here.
Till then, happy gaming everyone.
